My Story

My story isn’t one of a linear path but rather one of twists, turns, and rediscovery. Growing up, I used art as a way to cope with the challenges I faced in my family life. As the middle child of three, with parents who divorced when I was 15, painting, coloring, and drawing, finding comfort and expression in various forms of art. It wasn’t just a hobby—it was a lifeline. Art became my voice when I didn’t have the words to express my emotions. This early relationship with art laid the foundation for what would become my life’s work, though I wouldn’t fully realize it until many years later.

In my twenties, I lived in New York, worked various jobs in architecture and design, and eventually started a family. It wasn’t until after I had my children that I decided to go back to school. In my early 40's, I enrolled in college, determined to turn my passion for art into something more meaningful. After earning my BFA in art education, I pursued a master’s in art therapy and clinical mental health, a field 2 fields that resonated deeply with my own experiences. I initially thought I would teach art, but my time working in schools showed me the profound impact art could have on people’s mental and emotional well-being. I knew I had found my calling.

Today, I work with clients from all walks of life, helping them use art to explore their inner worlds, process their emotions, and find healing. My own journey through life has been anything but straightforward. I’ve lived in numerous places, faced various personal challenges, and continuously sought out ways to grow and evolve. These experiences have shaped me into the therapist I am today—empathetic, understanding, and deeply committed to helping others find their own paths to healing.

Art therapy isn’t just about creating something beautiful; it’s about the process of creation itself. It’s about finding meaning in the act of making, whether that’s through painting, drawing, or working with clay. My sessions are a safe space where you can explore your feelings without judgment, where you can express yourself in ways that feel natural to you. Whether you’re struggling with self-esteem, dealing with a major life transition, or simply feeling lost, I’m here to help you navigate these challenges through the transformative power of art.

If my story resonates with you, I invite you to take the first step toward your own journey of healing. Let’s explore how art can help you express what’s inside, find clarity, and move forward in your life.
